A Poem: Ego

Oh, Ego, how do you do? Don’t you know I’m tired of you? As the light of the sun penetrates the horizon, I find an esoteric connection and you leave.

Oh, True Self, how do you do? Don’t you know that I’m fond of you? As the birds gossip and dance with wonder in the air, I find an esoteric connection and you shine.

Oh, Justin, how do you do? Don’t you know that there’s a different you? As the wave crashes in the ocean, I find an esoteric connection and realize I am one with all.

Oh, Person, how do you do? Don’t you know that this is about you too? As the dew on the grass evaporates after dusk, I find an esoteric connection and realize we are one.

Oh, Life, how do you do? Don’t you know that I’m letting go of you? As each child is born and a mother gives her first kiss, I find an esoteric connection and realize that life is death.

Oh, Death, how do you do? Don’t you know that I’m okay with you? As each person gives their last breath and steps into a new birth, I find an esoteric connection and realize that life is in death and we will all dance with it.

Oh, God, how do you do? Don’t you know that I’m here with you? As each moment dances with time, I find an esoteric connection and realize that we are now one.
